When tapping to pay with an Android device, Google Wallet protects card information by sharing a unique virtual card number with the merchant instead of the actual card number. To use this feature, ensure NFC is enabled in your device settings, unlock your phone, and hold it near the payment terminal until a check mark appears. Managing Loyalty and Gift Cards You can keep loyalty cards and gift cards organized and readily available within the app. This ensures easy access to benefits and rewards when making purchases. Digital Tickets and Passes Google Wallet supports storing various types of tickets and passes. Users can add airline boarding passes and receive real-time updates regarding gate changes and departure times. Transit passes can also be stored, enabling fare payment with a tap. For events, concerts, and sports, tickets can be added to the app for convenient access and display upon entry. The app automatically updates tickets with the latest event information. Online Checkout and Order Tracking For online purchases, the GPay button or autofill feature in Chrome allows quick access to credit and debit cards saved in Google Wallet. Additionally, users in the US can link Google Wallet to Gmail to view the status and expected delivery date for online orders directly within the app. Digital IDs The app provides quick access to digital versions of identification documents, such as driver’s licenses and student IDs. Privacy and Security Features Google Wallet incorporates industry-leading security measures directly into Android phones. These include 2-Step Verification, Find My Phone functionality, and remote data erase capabilities. Device Compatibility Google Wallet is available on Android phones running Pie 9.0 or later, as well as on Wear OS and Google Fitbit devices.
